Bristow Global Media Appoints Founder and Former President of Newroad Media, Marlo Miazga, as Vice-President of Content
TORONTO, CANADA – January 11, 2017 – Julie Bristow, President and CEO of Bristow Global Media Inc. (BGM), is pleased to announce the appointment of Marlo Miazga to the position of Vice President, Content, effective immediately. In this expanded role, Miazga will work with Bristow to lead the production and development of content.
A 20-year industry veteran, Miazga has built a reputation for her expertise in creating, producing, and selling premium factual and drama content. Miazga joined BGM as Co-Executive Producer of Canada: The Story of Us, which is based on the internationally successful format created by Nutopia and premiering on CBC in March 2017. Prior to joining BGM, Miazga was Co-President and Founder of Newroad Media, where she developed, produced and sold original content for both the domestic and global marketplace. Her production company created commercially successful television series including multiple seasons of Close Encounters (Discovery Channel and Science U.S.), Curious and Unusual Deaths (Discovery Channel Canada, A&E UK) and the international co-production My Wild Affair (PBS, Animal Planet Canada and Discovery West).
She has spent the last decade as a resident mentor at the Canadian Film Centre (CFC), where Miazga advised on more than 30 films, many of which went on to garner huge success in both the domestic and international markets.

Miazga has held a variety of roles on a number of Canadian film and television productions, having first begun her career as an editor. Included in her credits are: Peter Wintonicks’ award-winning National Film Board feature, Cinema Verité: Defining The Moment; Paul Fox’s psychological feature thriller, The Dark Hours; CBC Comedian Rick Mercer’s five-part series, Tuning In and comedy series for CBC, Jimmy MacDonald’s Canada as well as seven seasons of Rescue Mediums (OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network (Canada),W Network, WE tv, CBS Reality UK and Netflix). She is a CFC Film Lab alumna and a graduate of McGill University.
